The short answer
Decide your serving time, guest count and dish counts first. Choose a chef service that clearly explains the menu, kitchen responsibilities and full quote before you pay.
Start with the party, not a long menu
For a birthday, family dinner or festive gathering, the first decision is when you want the food served. Set a serving time rather than assuming the chef will arrive at that time: cooking and preparation happen before the meal. Chef arrival and service duration are confirmed according to your final menu and guest count.
Next, estimate how many people will eat. In Look My Cook’s booking quote, the guest count includes people aged four and above. Ask your guests about vegetarian preferences, allergies and other dietary requirements before you finalise the dishes. Share special instructions rather than assuming an ingredient can always be substituted.
- Choose your city and event date.
- Set the food serving time.
- Count guests aged four and above.
- Note dietary requirements and any kitchen constraints.
How much does a party chef cost?
Look My Cook’s standard-date chef quote is ₹99 per guest plus ₹149 per dish, with a minimum chef quote of ₹1,999. A Basic Amount only covers the shortfall when the guest-and-dish total falls below that minimum. The chef quote is not the cost of ingredients, utensils or optional staff.
For example, 20 guests and four dishes on a standard date come to ₹1,980 for guests plus ₹596 for dishes: ₹2,576 in total before any eligible coupon or add-ons. Date-specific prices can differ, so the quote for your selected event date is the one to use.
You pay 50% to book and the remaining 50% to the chef after service. Review the full summary, your date and any optional waiter, cleaner or bartender selections before paying. Do not compare services on the headline price alone: ask what the quote actually includes.
Prepare the kitchen and ingredients
The chef cooks the selected food in your kitchen and does not bring ingredients or utensils. After the advance payment is completed, a chef is assigned and the ingredients list is shared on WhatsApp. Use that list to organise your shopping once the menu is finalised.
As a hosting checklist, clear a working area, check your cooking appliances and make serving bowls and plates easy to find. Discuss any missing utensils in advance. The chef wipes the kitchen slab after cooking; that is not a full post-party cleaning service.
- Buy ingredients according to the final shared list.
- Check cookware, utensils and serving dishes.
- Make space for preparation and cooking.
- Keep dietary notes available for the final menu discussion.
Book, then finish the details
Look My Cook’s journey starts with city selection, followed by your party date, serving time, people and dish counts. Review the quote, sign in with your mobile number and add your address before paying the advance. Keep your event details accurate so your final menu discussion matches the party you are planning.
The service covers Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru. For an NCR party, use the relevant Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad or Faridabad page to explore the service before entering the booking journey. Start with your date and a realistic guest count, then use the menu discussion to make the food fit your home.
